Designing & Publishing Novels
Project author: Maria Zamparelli
Designing and publishing novels for independent writers brings foresight to an author for her next books.
People who write come from all sorts of backgrounds. Some have training, others have a family member who writes, and others study literature and become enamored with books.
María Denisse Zamparelli has a master’s degree in Comparative Literature. Anyone who has had any interaction with her knows she loves literature.
When we started working with her she had recently finished her first novel. Being an independent writer, she had no idea of the printing process but was very sure of what she wanted. We sat down and had a very informative meeting where we explained to her the alternatives available. Plus, we got to know her.
Finally, we designed, formatted, and coordinated the printing of Brevísima y verdadera historia del Almirante y su primer viaje, which won a very important award. This led to the writing of her second book which is a series of short stories about birds.
Once we met for her third book, she decided that she wanted all her books to have a similar cover. This was very good foresight for when she has us design and help publish her next novels.
We worked on alternatives allowing each book to have its own personality but to be seen as part of a family. Of course, this meant the redesign and printing of her first two book covers but by that time there were only several left and it was a good investment.
Maria Zamparelli has become a very good client and friend. We are very proud that her third novel Los Infortunios de Fátima Moniz has won two important awards. She is currently working on her fourth book.
